Description
‘Pūhoro-ā-tai’, is inspired by water designs. It is a design used a lot in Māori Art. It is specifically used by Māori Toa (Māori Warriors) to adorn/tattoo their legs. It is also seen on the bow, at the front of a waka tauā (Māori war canoe), which is supposed to represent 'speed'- to enhance the speed of the Toa or Waka Tauā.
