Joseph Bruno Moran, 1874 - 1952, commercial artist.
Born in Manchester, he started his career as a textile designer. He came to New Zealand in about 1911, and after a time was employed by the Auckland Star as a commercial artist.
In July 1931 he was employed as head of the Art Department at the New Zealand Herald in the commercial printing section; he remained there until 1952.
He was a craftsman of distinction in both watercolours and oils, also expert in lithographic work.
